What We Do

Professional Knife Sharpening Services in Miamisburg & West Carrollton, Ohio

Blunt Force Prevention offers professional knife sharpening services for home cooks, professional chefs, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts throughout the Miamisburg and West Carrollton communities. We sharpen all types of blades — from everyday kitchen knives and chef's knives to outdoor hunting knives, fillet knives, and pocket knives — using a precise, multi-stage whetstone sharpening process that restores each blade to peak performance.

Kitchen Knife Sharpening

Our most popular service. We sharpen chef's knives, paring knives, utility knives, boning knives, cleavers, and more. Kitchen knives are sharpened at their original factory bevel angle to preserve the blade geometry and maximize cutting performance. We use a progressive grit system — starting with coarser stones to re-establish a damaged or dull edge, then moving through medium and fine grits to refine and polish the cutting surface. The result is a razor-sharp, smooth edge that slices effortlessly through vegetables, proteins, and bread. Pricing starts at $6 per blade, with bulk rates of $4 per blade for 15 or more kitchen knives — ideal for restaurants, catering operations, and large households.

Serrated Knife Sharpening

Serrated blades require a specialized approach that most general sharpening services can't handle. We sharpen bread knives, steak knives, and other serrated blades using precision sharpening rods matched to the individual serration gullets. Each serration is carefully worked to restore its original profile and cutting aggression without altering the tooth geometry. Bread knives are $8 each. Steak knives are sharpened as a set — $12 for a set of four. Serrated blades are not eligible for bulk pricing due to the additional time and precision required for each blade.

Outdoor & Hunting Knife Sharpening

Hunting knives, fillet knives, pocket knives, and camp knives all benefit from the same disciplined sharpening process we apply to kitchen cutlery. Outdoor blades often encounter tougher use conditions — field dressing, wood processing, rope cutting — that quickly degrade even a well-hardened edge. We restore these blades to a working-sharp edge suitable for demanding field use. Outdoor knife sharpening is $8 per blade, with a bulk rate of $6 per blade for 10 or more.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Service

We offer two convenient service methods for customers in the Miamisburg and West Carrollton area. Scheduled drop-off allows you to bring your blades directly to us at an agreed-upon time — all appointments must be arranged in advance, as we work from home and do not operate a walk-in shop. Local pick-up service means we come to you: submit your order online and we'll reach out to coordinate a convenient pick-up time at your home or business. Both methods are available throughout our service area at no additional charge.

Restaurant & Bulk Sharpening

We work with local restaurants, catering companies, and food service operations that need reliable, recurring sharpening on a volume basis. Our bulk pricing tiers are designed to make professional-grade sharpening affordable at scale. Sharp knives improve kitchen safety, reduce prep time, and extend the working life of every blade in your set. Contact us to discuss a recurring maintenance schedule for your kitchen.

What to Expect

Every blade we receive is inspected before sharpening to assess its current condition, edge geometry, and any chips or damage. We communicate clearly about what we find and what the sharpening process will involve. Once sharpened, every knife is hand-tested on paper and food-safe materials to confirm the edge before it's returned to you. Our goal is simple: your knives should leave our hands sharper than the day you bought them.
