Our Story
About Blunt Force Prevention
Blunt Force Prevention is a professional knife sharpening service based in the Miamisburg and West Carrollton area of Ohio. We believe that a sharp knife is not just a tool — it's a safer, more enjoyable, and more precise instrument in every kitchen, workshop, and field. Our mission is simple: to return every blade to its peak performance, no matter how dull it has become.
We serve home cooks, professional chefs, hunters, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone who relies on a quality edge to get the job done right. Whether you have a single Japanese chef's knife that deserves careful attention or a full restaurant set that needs a rapid turnaround, we have the experience and the equipment to handle it with precision.
Our sharpening process follows a disciplined, multi-stage progression. We begin by diagnosing each blade's geometry, identifying chips, micro-rolls, or uneven bevels. From there, we move through a carefully selected series of sharpening stones — coarse grits to re-establish the edge profile, medium grits to refine it, and fine finishing stones to achieve a razor-sharp, polished cutting edge. Every blade leaves our hands tested and ready for real work.
Blunt Force Prevention was founded by Chris, a lifelong enthusiast of well-made tools and the craftsmanship required to maintain them. What started as sharpening knives for family and friends quickly grew into a trusted local service known for its attention to detail, honest pricing, and genuine care for every customer's gear.
We offer convenient scheduled drop-off as well as local pick-up service throughout the Miamisburg and West Carrollton communities. All appointments are arranged in advance — we work from home and do not operate a walk-in shop. We also offer bulk pricing for restaurants, catering operations, and large households — because great edges shouldn't come with a premium price tag when you need volume service.
If you're tired of struggling with dull blades, or simply want to rediscover how good a sharp knife feels, we'd love to help. Submit an order online or reach out directly — we're always happy to answer questions about your blades.
